Somchai Pongpairoj

Bangkok · Routine Service

"I brought in a Seiko from my father — it had been sitting unworn for maybe eight years. Before they touched anything, Khun Wiwat sat with me and went through exactly what he'd found. The service took about two and a half weeks. When I got it back, it was running within a few seconds a day. I wasn't expecting that from a watch that old."

Bangkok · Dial Conservation

"The dial on my grandmother's watch had some light tarnish and one of the hands was slightly bent. I was nervous about anyone touching it — it's sentimental rather than valuable. Nattaya was very patient and explained what she could do without changing the look of it. The result was subtle but genuinely improved. I felt comfortable throughout."

Expat, Bangkok · Full Restoration

"My vintage Longines needed a full restoration — the movement was stopping, the crystal was cracked, and the case had some wear. The process took around six weeks, which felt long, but I was given updates and could ask questions at any point. They found a worn part mid-way and told me before replacing it. The watch is running well now. Communication was entirely in English, which mattered to me."

Phra Nakhon · Routine Service

"I've brought three watches here over the past four years. Each time, Somsak has the piece logged before I've left the door. The price is always what they tell you upfront. Nothing to complain about. It's a genuine workshop — not a shop that sends work out to someone else."

Visiting Bangkok · Dial Conservation

"Was in Bangkok for three weeks and wanted to have a vintage Omega attended to before I left. They were honest that the timeline might be tight and suggested just the dial work, which could be done in ten days. It was done in eight. Very calm place to visit — no pushing for more work than I asked about."

Preecha Charoenwong

Thonburi · Full Restoration

"My uncle's Tissot hadn't run in over a decade. I wanted a proper restoration, not a quick fix. They gave me a realistic assessment at the start — some parts would need sourcing, which would take time. It took around two months total, but the watch came back running well with a document describing everything done. That documentation matters to me."

Nirada Phakdee — vintage Jaeger-LeCoultre, full restoration

Duration: 8 weeks · Completed April 2025

The situation

An inherited piece from her mother — a 1960s dress watch that hadn't run in years. The movement had significant wear, the crystal was yellowed, and the crown gasket had failed. Nirada wanted it working but was concerned about the watch looking different afterwards.

What was done

Full movement service with one worn jewel replaced. Crystal replaced with a period-appropriate sapphire. Crown and gasket replaced for water resistance. Dial and hands left untouched — original patina preserved at Nirada's request. Case cleaned only, not polished.

The outcome

Running within 8 seconds per day. Original appearance maintained. Water resistance restored to 30m. Nirada received a complete written record. She described the experience as "exactly what I hoped for — it looks the same but it works again."

DL

David Lim — vintage Omega Constellation, dial conservation

Duration: 12 days · Completed May 2025

The situation

A Singapore collector passing through Bangkok with a 1960s Constellation showing dial tarnish around the chapter ring and one misaligned index. He had two weeks in the city and wanted to know whether anything could be done in that time.

What was done

Sympathetic easing of tarnish around the chapter ring. Loose index carefully realigned without disturbing the dial surface. Movement not opened — David confirmed it was running well. Timeline met with two days to spare.

The outcome

Tarnish reduced noticeably without altering patina. Index correctly seated. David collected the watch before flying home and left a note saying the result was "precise and conservative — exactly the right approach for a vintage piece."
